Site supervision and external quality control
Site supervision and external quality control
A site supervisor ensures that work on site progresses as planned in terms of the technical plan, budget and schedule.
Site supervision
The task of a site supervisor is to oversee environmental or infrastructure construction and to ensure that the work is carried out according to plans and quality and safety requirements. They often represent the client and make sure that the construction project proceeds as agreed and stays on schedule and within budget.
The job description of our site supervisors includes, among other things, reports related to additional and alteration work, supervision of financial transactions, record keeping and, if separately agreed, the duties of a safety coordinator. The supervisor’s presence helps prevent errors, keep the project on schedule and maintain smooth communication between all parties involved, which promotes a successful project.
External quality control
An external quality controller acts as an impartial supervisor on the site, ensuring that the environmental construction project meets the quality requirements, environmental permit conditions, technical regulations and standards set for it. An external quality controller cannot double as a site supervisor or designer.
The main task of an external quality controller is to ensure that the work proceeds in accordance with the environmental permit and plans approved by the authority. Their work is a part of risk management and helps prevent costly errors and omissions.
